Guide: How to open AppData folder in Windows - Step-by-step Guide

The AppData folder in Windows contains important data for applications and programs installed on the computer. This folder stores settings, temporary files, and other data for example. In some cases, it may be necessary to open the AppData folder to find or edit certain files.

Step by step guide:

  • Click on the start menu in the taskbar and type "Run".
  • Click on the "Run" icon to open the "Run" dialog box.
  • Type "%appdata%" in the text field and click "OK".
  • The AppData folder will now be opened and all subfolders will be displaye

Alternative:

  • Click on the start menu in the taskbar and select "Computer".
  • Click on "This PC" on the left side of the window.
  • Click on "C:" in the list of drives to open the main directory of the operating system.
  • Click on "Users" to open the folder for user accounts.
  • Click on the folder with the name of the current user to open the user folder.
  • Click on the "AppData" folder to open it.
